1490 is an olive oil producer in the region of Córdoba, Spain. Years ago the current proprietor found a notarized letter in his grandfather's office in La Rombla that dates the orchard's operations back to at least the year 1490. In the letter it speaks of a neighbouring olive orchard at the time being owned by one of the four popular Christian military guilds in Spanish history called the Order of Calatrava. Predecessor ownership to the current family eventually acquired this neighbouring orchard. And so today, it also makes up the demarcation of the 1490 olive orchard.

1490 produces Extra Virgin Olive Oil in Picuda (organic and non-organic), Picual, Hojiblanca and Pajerara. This season, the above product, the 1490 Frasca Galera 250ml, is produced with organic Picuda.
